Ricou Browning Cause Of Death
Ricou Browning, best known for his role as Gill-Man in the 1954 film Creature from the Black Lagoon, died of natural causes earlier this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kim Browning, the actor’s daughter, confirmed his death to THR.
She wrote: “He had a fabulous career in the film industry, providing wonderful entertainment for past and future generations,”
Who was Ricou Browning?
Ricou Browning was a film director, actor, producer, screenwriter, underwater cinematographer, and stuntman from the United States. Browning was born on February 16, 1930, in Fort Pierce, Florida. At Florida State University, he majored in physical education.
Browning began his career in water shows before moving on to produce shows. In the 1940s, Browning worked at Wakulla Springs and learned to act in underwater newsreels created by Newt Perry, who later took Browning with him when he opened Weeki Wachee Springs. Browning was elected president of the newly formed Florida Motion Picture & Television Association in 1968. Film Florida presented him with its first Florida Legends Award in 2006.
Wife
Fran Browning is the wife of Ricou Browning. Fran died in March 2020. According to THR, Browning is survived by four children: Ricou Browning Jr., Renee, Kelly, and Kim, as well as ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
How Did Ricou Browning Die?
Browning died on February 27, 2023, at the age of 93, at his home in Southwest Ranches, Florida. His death was confirmed by his daughter.
