A 37-year-old woman was discovered dead in a flat near a racetrack, and one man was charged with her murder. On February 18, Darrell Buchanan’s body was discovered in a plush apartment complex in Hamilton Park North, Scotland. Walter Buchanan, 64, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff’s Court charged with her murder on Monday.

During the private hearing, he did not enter a plea. Buchanan was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again in eight days. Prosecutors were assigned to investigate the case further.

Mother Found Dead In Flat

Locals reported a heavy police presence in the area in the days following the shocking discovery. One local told the Daily Record: “CID officers have been knocking on our doors.”

“We woke up to police in the street. There were plain-clothed officers stationed inside the flat block. There have been police everywhere, it’s very worrying. This is a nice area.”
