Prosecutors say a 30-year-old woman stabbed her husband during a fight at a hotel in Gurnee earlier this week. Ceiria A. Woodland, 30, of Gurnee, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, two counts of domestic battery, and violating a protective order.

The Gurnee Police Department was called to the Super 8 hotel at 5520 Grand Avenue in Gurnee on Wednesday. According to Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Kelse Banks, officers responded to a report of a person being stabbed outside the hotel.
Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing Her Husband
Officers learned that the victim had been staying at the hotel with Woodland, his wife. Woodland is under active protection from the victim.
According to Banks, the victim and Woodland were arguing outside the hotel. A witness observed the victim and Woodland arguing and pushing each other, LakeMchenryScanner.com reported. Woodland then stabbed the victim with a knife, according to the witness. According to Banks, the victim suffered a wound to his hand, which was bleeding when officers arrived.
Woodland was ordered held on a $100,000 bond by Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak. Woodland is still being held in the Lake County Jail and would need to post a $10,000 cash bond in order to be released. The preliminary hearing is set for March 15.
